Toen stond ze daar opeens
met al haar spullen
je had wel gezegd
je bent welkom
Altijd. maar toch

Had ze niet nog die ene tante
Nee, tante had al bezoek
3 zelfs
Dat was wel genoeg

of die ene vriend
hoe heette hij ook al weer
best een aardige kerel
Nee, hij was al een tijd verdwenen
niemand wist waar heen

De oom van vaderskant dan
wat norsig
maar zo erg kon het toch niet zijn
Nee, hij was dood
Morsdood, al een jaar

En als je nu eens wat geld aanbood
de buren hadden nog wel een kamer
Nee, die was al bezet
En eigenlijk was haar geld al op
de reis was duur

U woont ver
Heel ver
Mag ik nu naar binnen
met aarzeling stap je opzij
Oh en Oom, morgen
komt Fatima denk ik ook nog.

nobody knew where he went

The uncle on my father’s side then
a bit grumpy

the journey was expensive
